Halloween Cards.

Is there anything more fun than getting a CUTE invite to a Halloween party in the mail?

Here are two fun ideas for Halloween cards that I thought I would try:  A mummy and a witch!

For the mummy I made a simple template and cut the base of my card out of that (on the fold).  I cut 1 1/2" strips for the bandages and inked the edges to give it dimension.  For the eyes I cut purple, white, and black circles, 2", 1 1/2", and 1".    Layer your bandages over the eyes and finish as desired!

For the witch I just sketched a quick pattern for the skirt, legs, and shoes.  On the skirt the fold is at the top.  Attatch the legs with brads so they dangle.  Embelish as desired.  I just kept it simple with a belt, buckles on the shoes, and a ruffle on the skirt.  You could make it really darling with ribbon and glitter and even one of those little plastic spiders :)

Happy Crafting!

Pumpkin Place Mats!

The fall always makes me want to be CRAFTY!!!   I finally finished a project that I think has been 5 years in the making...not becuase it was hard, just because sometimes I'm a procrastinater when it comes to certain projects and they sit there forever!  But this one finally got done and they turned out darling!!

I picked out orange fabric for the base, black for the eyes, nose, and mouth, and green for the leaves.

Cut a pumpkin oval shape out of the base orange fabric

I cut out my shapes for leaves and the pumkin's face (just be creative with it!) and appliqued them on with the sewing machine (spray adeshive them on first and they will stay where you want them).

Layer with warm and natural and backing fabric (I used just black on the back).

Quilt as desired.  I quilted them so that the lines look like pumpkin grooves.

Bind with desired binding!!!

Pretty easy for a cute placemat or even wall hanging!  I made 8 for placemats.  FUN!
