Mod Podge Blocks

Here is an EASY project I did with my mom and sisters one day. You can be totally creative with this prodject! Make the blocks say anything you want and use paper to match the decor you already have.
DIRECTIONS:
  • Decide what you want you blocks to say. I chose "HOME". You can make them for any occassion! Say "BELIEVE" or "SANTA" for Christmas, or "BOO" or "SPOOKY" for Halloween. The possibilities are endless!
  • Take a board of any width (depends on how big you want your blocks) and saw into blocks, making as many blocks as letters in your word of choice. I made my blocks so they were different heights and widths. Sand edges and corners
  • Cut scrapbook paper of choice to size of blocks.
  • Using a Cricut machine (which is what I used), stencils, or just scissors, cut out your letters from black scrapbook paper.
  • Using Mod Podge, glue paper to blocks. LET DRY.
  • Using Mod Podge, paste letters on blocks over dryed Mod Podged scrapbook paper.
  • Finish with buttons, staining edges, etc. if wanted!
  • PUT ON DISPLAY and ENJOY!

Baby Boy Beanie

I found this crochet pattern on Etsy.com and thought it was so cute with the little brim!
Easy enough for beginners. It turned out okay for my first try!

Creep Cakes!

At our Hurst Family Halloween party we made these Creep Cakes! We created monsters with cupcakes using licorice, gummy candies, air heads(for tongues), marshmallows, and M&M's! You really can use ANYTHING!! That's the beauty of it...they're monsters so you can't mess up!

Kneader's Gingerbread Mummies

Gingerbread cookies are not just for Christmas! I made these Gingerbread Mummies today! So delicious! I saw them on Good Things Utah and the recipe is from Kneaders Bakery. With melted white chocolate for the bandages, how can you resist?!

Coming Soon!

Here is a little preview of the artwork I have done for my children's Christmas book The Smallest Tree. I will be self-publishing it soon where it will hopefully be available for purchase for those of you who would be interested. I have been looking into Blurb to do this. If anyone has any other suggestions for publishing, please let me know! I will keep you updated!
