Stylish "No Soliciting" Sign

I've been needing a "No Soliciting" sign for a awhile...  I whipped this baby out in probably 30 minutes total (and that's because I had to let the paint dry).

I took a piece of scrap wood and painted it.  Let dry and distress.

While the paint is drying cut your letters out of vinyl.  I used a Cricut machine with the cartridge "Cuttin' up"

Then stick them on!!

SO EASY!!  But it still adds a little style :)

Pumpkin Place Mats!

The fall always makes me want to be CRAFTY!!!   I finally finished a project that I think has been 5 years in the making...not becuase it was hard, just because sometimes I'm a procrastinater when it comes to certain projects and they sit there forever!  But this one finally got done and they turned out darling!!

I picked out orange fabric for the base, black for the eyes, nose, and mouth, and green for the leaves.

Cut a pumpkin oval shape out of the base orange fabric

I cut out my shapes for leaves and the pumkin's face (just be creative with it!) and appliqued them on with the sewing machine (spray adeshive them on first and they will stay where you want them).

Layer with warm and natural and backing fabric (I used just black on the back).

Quilt as desired.  I quilted them so that the lines look like pumpkin grooves.

Bind with desired binding!!!

Pretty easy for a cute placemat or even wall hanging!  I made 8 for placemats.  FUN!

Bright Airplane Painting

I saw some cute bright artwork online while surfing and thought how fun it would be to have in my little one's room. After looking at the price I decided I needed to take different measures. I tried my hand at painting it myself! I have done other artwork, but this was my 1st PAINTING! It was a lot of fun and turned out cute for an airplane-themed boys room. I'm going to try more of these bright paintings. Let me know if you have any fun ideas to paint!!

Mod Podge Blocks

Here is an EASY project I did with my mom and sisters one day. You can be totally creative with this prodject! Make the blocks say anything you want and use paper to match the decor you already have.
DIRECTIONS:
  • Decide what you want you blocks to say. I chose "HOME". You can make them for any occassion! Say "BELIEVE" or "SANTA" for Christmas, or "BOO" or "SPOOKY" for Halloween. The possibilities are endless!
  • Take a board of any width (depends on how big you want your blocks) and saw into blocks, making as many blocks as letters in your word of choice. I made my blocks so they were different heights and widths. Sand edges and corners
  • Cut scrapbook paper of choice to size of blocks.
  • Using a Cricut machine (which is what I used), stencils, or just scissors, cut out your letters from black scrapbook paper.
  • Using Mod Podge, glue paper to blocks. LET DRY.
  • Using Mod Podge, paste letters on blocks over dryed Mod Podged scrapbook paper.
  • Finish with buttons, staining edges, etc. if wanted!
  • PUT ON DISPLAY and ENJOY!
